You need to take two exams to gain the CompTIA Linux+ Certification namely, LX0-103 exam and LX0-104 exam. Since 2010, CompTIA Linux+ Certification is powered by the Linux Professional Institute. These exams will test your competencies needed in being a system administrator of Linux systems. That is, your skills in determining system architecture and maintaining system services; in designing and managing Linux installation and package; in working on GNU and Unix commands; and in installing and configuring user interfaces and desktops. Moreover, you should also enhance your skills in making and managing file systems, partitions, and user accounts; in writing scripts and managing data; in installing and configuring user interfaces and desktops; and in troubleshooting network fundamentals.
Both exams are comprised of 60 questions. Questions are given in a multiple-choice format, with either single or multiple responses and also in a fill in the blank format. Each exam voucher cost USD$206 but there are deluxe and premier bundles available if you want to acquire other CompTIA materials.
CompTIA Linux + Certification Exam Preparation
To pass the exam, you must score at least 500 on a scale of 200 to 800. It is advisable that prior to taking these exams, you already have a CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications and an experience in Linux administration for a year.
